About the Cottage

Entering by the front door, the hallway has hanging space for coats, and stairs leading to the first floor. The sitting room overlooks the garden and is sunny from early morning. It is comfortably furnished with sofas, an armchair and TV; there is an open coal-burning fireplace. The larger living room is tastefully furnished in pine with a large farmhouse dining table and chairs, washstand and Welsh Dresser; there is a large three-seater sofa.

The spacious kitchen, with its stone walls and quarry-tiled floor, has fitted cupboards and plenty of workspace. The electrical appliances include a cooker, large fridge/freezer, washing machine, microwave, kettle and toaster. There is a plentiful supply of kitchen equipment, saucepans and serving dishes for cooking.

Beyond the kitchen, there is a lobby leading to the back door, with a separate loo and plenty of space for hanging outdoor clothes and storage of boots and shoes.

Upstairs, the main bedroom has lovely views to the village and has a double bed. The second and smaller third bedrooms each have twin beds. All the bedrooms are tastefully furnished in country pine with adequate wardrobes/chests of drawers and bedside lamps. All beds have pillows, duvets and bedcovers – and fresh linen and towels are provided. The bathroom has a bath (with shower with instant hot water), loo and an airing cupboard with electric immersion heater.

Heating is provided by Dimplex night storage heaters in the downstairs rooms, hall and landing; all three bedrooms and the bathroom have electric heaters. In cold weather, a small open fire in the sitting room can also be used.
